HAW-EuropaNetzwerke: HE Cluster 2 Project proposal: Consequences of gender-based violence for the world of work
Our research
Domestic and gender-based violence does not end when you leave home. It has a lasting effect - in education, at work, in economic independence. How great this influence is and what it costs society has hardly been systematically analysed to date.
ImVioLa is changing that. Funded by the BMFTR and embedded in the European research programme Horizon Europe, the project investigates the effects of gender-specific economic violence on educational and employment opportunities - for affected individuals as well as for society as a whole.
The HOME research centre initiates and leads interdisciplinary workshops to establish a European research consortium. Existing collaborations with universities in Iceland, Italy and Georgia are being intensified and expanded to include new partners from the fields of economics and social sciences, psychology, education, law and history. Educational institutions outside the university sector are also involved - in order to facilitate participatory methods and strengthen the practical relevance.
ImVioLa is a preparatory project: it lays the foundations for a joint European research proposal - and shows that the HOME research centre is increasingly working in an international network.
